 WHAT IS SUPPORT AND WHY WE NEED IT ?

The definition of a support system is that you have a network of people that can provide you with practical or emotional support. These support systems will help you improve your overall health and have been shown to reduce stress and anxiety.

A healthy support system includes someone who can call your bluff when needed, offer honest feedback without you getting angry, and help you stay or get back on track. With no one holding you accountable, recovery can become dangerous.

There are many practical benefits to having supportive relationships, such as knowing people who can provide you with information, advice, guidance, and also tangible support, such as assistance in times of uncertainty. This feature of social support can be comforting and enhance your feelings of security.

Human beings do not thrive alone. We need our family and friends as pillars of support, especially in difficult times. Having a strong network of supportive family and friends helps enhance our mental well-being.
