Radish is one such fine vegetable that goes well with dal, sambhar, curry and even paratha. Radish and onion combinations in sambhar are highly popular and most enjoyed food in Tamil Nadu. Light in weight, easy to peel and chop and with these super qualities radish is included in the meals at any time of the day. Here is a recipe of radish curry with dal powder.
INGREDIENTS :
Radish
Salt
Turmeric
Oil
Toor dal
Channa dal
Urad dal
Asafoetida
Red chillies
Mustard seeds
Curry leaves
PREPARATION:
wash, peel the skin and chop radish into pieces
Cook it in a pressure cooker
Take a wok, add little oil and roast toor dal, channa dal, urad dal, asafoetida, and red chillies till golden brown
Allow it to cool and grind it.
Open the cooker and pour the radish in a colander. Let it cool
Place a wok, pour oil, add mustard seeds and when they crackle add curry leaves, then radish. Mix well.
Now add turmeric powder, salt and the grind dal powder.
Mix well and allow it to be on the stove for few minutes. Then transfer it into the serving bowl.
Serve it along with white rice & ghee or Rasam.
